Softball Game Preview: Franklin Panthers vs. Eagle Rock Eagles

Franklin is 0-10 against Eagle Rock since April of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Franklin's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Eagle Rock's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Franklin will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Wilson, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Mules on Wednesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by nine runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Eagle Rock entered their tilt with Marshall on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Barristers get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory.

Eagle Rock pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Franklin might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Eagle Rock when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
