Kirtland came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Rootstown, but Addie Biggin wouldn't allow it. The Rovers put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday with plenty of help from Biggin, who had 20 digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 11 times she's played.

While Rootstown won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-21.

The win got Rootstown back to even at 11-11. As for Kirtland, they dropped their record down to 14-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Rootstown and Girard will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kirtland, they will take on Cornerstone Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
