Volleyball Recap: Los Lunas Falls Short Against Ranked Albuquerque

Los Lunas faced Albuquerque in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-2 defeat back in September.

While Los Lunas was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-15, 25-23.

Madison Pruitt paced Los Lunas' offense, picking up eight kills. Pruitt got some help from Cambria Casillas and her 11 assists. Danica Romero controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Jade Andrus, who had ten digs.

Los Lunas' defeat ended a six-match streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for Albuquerque, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Los Lunas has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Atrisco Heritage Academy on the 23rd. As for Albuquerque, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Rio Grande on the 23rd.
