The 30th Shriners Football Classic, sponsored by Aleppo Shriners and the Massachusetts High School Football Coaches Association, will be held June 20 at Bentley College in Waltham with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff. It will pit the best graduating seniors from the North against the best of the South.

On the North squad, a pair of Boston College-bound players will have an opportunity to team before the start of fall camp in August. Isaac Johnson was a member of Everett’s Division 1 Super Bowl championship team, while Nick Halloran is a product of Buckingham Browne & Nichols to play

Among the many high-powered combinations the North can offer, Beverly quarterback Michael Pierce could be handing off or passing to versatile running back Patrick Noone of Noble and Greenough.

The South has some intriguing combinations with Brockton signal caller Vaughn Askew having a prime-time target in UMass signee Julian Colarusso of Catholic Memorial. Tailback Matthew Bellomo of Holliston, Massachusetts’ Gatorade Player of the Year, should also be a focal point of the offense.

Among several past and present NFL players who have participated in the classic have include Doug Flutie, Steve DeOssie, Matt Hasselback, Pete Kendall and Jermain Wiggins.

Peter Columbo of Brockton High School is the head coach of the South squad while Dave Woods of Bishop Fenwick High School is coaching the North team.
