Basketball Recap: Van Buren County Takes a Loss

Van Buren County lost against Davis County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Van Buren County Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to the Davis County Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Mustangs are ranked 113th).

Van Buren County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Davis County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Van Buren County will square off against Danville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Davis County, they will be playing at home against Knoxville on Monday. Knoxville will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Davis County surely won't give up without a fight.
