Basketball Game Preview: Thorp Cardinals vs. Cornell Chiefs

The Thorp Cardinals will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Cornell Chiefs at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Thorp is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They had to suffer through a 64-24 loss at the hands of Colby. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

The losing side was boosted by Emma Mohr, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cornell suffered their biggest loss since January 24th last Thursday. They were outmatched by Glenwood City and fell 61-14. The Chiefs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.

Thorp will need to focus on slowing down Haylee Ellis, one of several Cornell players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points.
