Softball Recap: Rhea County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Rhea County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bledsoe County Warriors a 2-0 shutout on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The result came thanks to Allie Shaver's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Lakyn Lockhart was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Rhea County's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Bledsoe County, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4-1.

Rhea County has already played their next match, a 6-5 loss against McMinn County on the 8th. As for Bledsoe County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-4 defeat against Sequatchie County on the 10th.
