Soccer Recap: Lubbock Takes a Loss

Lubbock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Westerners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 535th, while the Pirates are ranked 185th).

Lubbock's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-1-4 record this season.

Lubbock has already played their next match (against Palo Duro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lubbock-Cooper will head out to square off against Tascosa at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tascosa's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
