Baseball Recap: Lowry Comes Up Short

Lowry extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-22-1. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wooster Colts. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Buckaroos have suffered since March 7th.

Bryce Niblack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

As for Wooster, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

On Wooster's side, Rowan Andersen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Vaden, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

While Lowry had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
