Preview: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Conifer Lobos
After seven games on the road, D'Evelyn is heading back home. They will take on the Conifer Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. D'Evelyn has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 242 points over their last four contests.
D'Evelyn put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 66-9 victory over Wheat Ridge. That 57 points margin sets a new team best for D'Evelyn this season.
Peyton Marvel was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. Marvel is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Megan Schonberger was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Conifer's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 52-15 loss at the hands of Dakota Ridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Conifer has suffered yet this season.
D'Evelyn pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Conifer, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Everything came up roses for D'Evelyn against Conifer in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 64-4 win. With D'Evelyn ahead 51-2 at the half, the match was all but over already.
