Recap: Parkview Patriots vs. Waxahachie Indians
On Saturday, Parkview came up short against Waxahachie and fell 59-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Parkview came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 54th in Arkansas, while Waxahachie is ranked 213th in Texas).
Waxahachie found their leader in underclassman Trae Nunn, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 6 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Nunn has scored at least 25% of Waxahachie's points. Michael Gatewood was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Parkview and nudges their season record down to 4-5. As for Waxahachie, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Parkview will head out on the road to face off against Little Rock Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Little Rock Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Waxahachie, they will face off against Cypress Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
