Softball Recap: Schulenburg Drops Season-High Score on Bloomington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Schulenburg). They blew past the Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats 17-2 on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Shorthorns as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Summer Livingston was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Perla Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Schulenburg's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-13-1. As for Bloomington, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Schulenburg is set to square off against their familiar foe Louise at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bloomington will challenge rival Weimar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
