Basketball Recap: Mt. Enterprise Takes a Loss

Mt. Enterprise's game on Friday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to the Cushing Bearkats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bearkats this season, with their most recent loss being a 57-37 defeat back in January.

Mt. Enterprise lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kaegan Ash, who went 7-for-11 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Tanner Wilburn was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points and three steals.

Mt. Enterprise's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-18. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points over those games. As for Cushing, their victory bumped their record up to 11-17.

Mt. Enterprise does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cushing, they will welcome Hawkins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hawkins will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something Cushing surely won't give up without a fight.
