Soccer Recap: Patterson Comes Up Short

Patterson was the 3-2 winner over Lathrop when they last played one another back in May of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Patterson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Lathrop are ranked fourth).

Patterson's goal came courtesy of Luis Cortes, which was the first he's scored this season.

Patterson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-3. As for Lathrop, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0-1.

Patterson has already played their next contest, a 5-2 win against Sierra on the 6th. As for Lathrop, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against Turlock on the 6th.
