Basketball Recap: Damonte Ranch Starts Season with Win Against Mcqueen

Damonte Ranch took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They blew past the McQueen Lancers 62-41. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Damonte Ranch was led to victory by Kylee Moscove and Jazmine Monges. Moscove shot 71% from the field en route to 22 points along with eight assists and seven steals, while Monges went 6-for-11 on her way to 16 points and five steals. Those 22 points gave Moscove a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Ghisletta, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Damonte Ranch was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McQueen only posted seven.

McQueen lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lexi Breshears, who put up six points.

Damonte Ranch won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Buchanan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for McQueen, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Yerington at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
