Softball Game Preview: Bellingham Bayhawks vs. Lynden Lions

Bellingham is 0-7 against Lynden since April of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Bayhawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Lions at 1:00 p.m. Bellingham has given up an average of 24 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bellingham is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They came up short against Ferndale, falling 20-6.

Meanwhile, Lynden fell victim to Sedro-Woolley and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Cubs. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Cubs: they've now lost four in a row.

Lynden's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-5. As for Bellingham, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Bellingham suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Lynden in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Bayhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
