Volleyball Recap: Augusta Prep Comes Up Short

Augusta Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dominion Christian Knights. The Cavaliers were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-21.

Dominion Christian found their leader in freshman Rachel Caldwell, who had eight digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Caldwell.

Augusta Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dominion Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Augusta Prep will square off against Monsignor Donovan Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Cavaliers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Dominion Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Valwood on the 16th.
