Volleyball Recap: Pendleton County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Pendleton County waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Tygarts Valley Bulldogs 3-0. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory on Saturday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pendleton County took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-11, 25-6.

Their offense was headlined by Tia Heavner and Brynlyn Waggy, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Carolyn Varner and her 12 assists. Alyssa Bennett controlled things from the service line, finishing with 12 aces.

Pendleton County's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Tygarts Valley, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Looking ahead, Pendleton County will square off against Elkins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tygarts Valley, they will challenge Pocahontas County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
