Basketball Preview: Dunbar Tigers vs. Ida Baker Bulldogs
After both having extra time off, the Dunbar Tigers and the Ida Baker Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Ida Baker took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dunbar, who comes in off a win.
It was a proper cat-fight when Dunbar faced off against East Lee County two weeks ago. Dunbar came out on top against East Lee County by a score of 59-50.

Dunbar got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addision Fuhr out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 21 rebounds. Fuhr has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times she's played. Lisa Guerrero-Salinas was another key player, putting up 15 points along with five boards and three steals.
Meanwhile, Ida Baker was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-41 heartbreaker at the hands of Fort Myers. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Green Wave 14-7 in the first quarter.
Dunbar will have to contain Maia Berdebes as she made an impact in Ida Baker's last game. She dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Berdebes a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Plummer, who posted ten points along with eight boards and four steals.
Ida Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Dunbar, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
