Volleyball Preview: Lewis & Clark Tigers vs. Cheney Blackhawks

The Lewis & Clark Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Cheney Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Lewis & Clark took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Gonzaga Prep, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers won by a set and slipped past the Bullpups 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Lewis & Clark got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Cheney got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Shadle Park 3-2. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Cheney took Shadle Park into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 25-21, 24-26, 18-25, 27-25, 15-12.

The victory got Lewis & Clark back to even at 5-5. As for Cheney, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.

Everything went Lewis & Clark's way against Cheney in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Lewis & Clark made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
