Mumford came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Hardin Oilers, sneaking past 8-6. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly two runs.

Mumford's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for West Hardin, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-13.

Mumford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Oilers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
