New Bedford and Durfee are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The New Bedford Whalers will head out to take on the Durfee Hilltoppers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. New Bedford is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Last Monday, New Bedford was able to grind out a solid win over O'Bryant, taking the game 51-44. Given the Whalers' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Tigers are ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Durfee earned a 66-58 victory over Greater New Bedford RVT on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hilltoppers.

New Bedford's record now sits at 13-4. As for Durfee, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

New Bedford didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Durfee when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Bedford since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
