Basketball Recap: Kouts Gets the Win

Kouts had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 54-45 win over the Marquette Catholic Blazers on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-62 back in December of 2024.

Marquette Catholic's loss came despite strong showings from Cole Dobre and Aleks Pecoski. Dobre dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards, while Pecoski posted 14 points. Dobre's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was JJ Welch, who put up nine points.

The victory made it two in a row for Kouts and bumps their season record up to 20-4. As for Marquette Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.

Looking ahead, Kouts will face off against Westville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Marquette Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
