Football Game Preview: Forsyth Panthers vs. Houston Tigers

The Forsyth Panthers will take on the Houston Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Forsyth's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last seven games.

Forsyth's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Buffalo 43-0. Considering the Panthers have won four matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Houston played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Liberty and fell 50-21. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Houston didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dj Riley and Tucker Venn. Riley also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Houston is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise.

Forsyth's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.3 points over those games. As for Houston, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Forsyth beat Houston 41-34 when the teams last played back in October of 2021. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Tigers' Bailey Hurst, who rushed for 252 yards and three scores while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.
