Basketball Recap: Columbia Wins Going Away Against West Marion

Columbia had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-46 W against the West Marion Trojans. That looming 52-46 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

West Marion lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Neliyaha Smith, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Precious Conerly, who posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for West Marion, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Columbia will head out to take on Tylertown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Marion, they will venture away from home to face off against Sumrall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
