Volleyball Recap: KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate Takes a Loss

After flying high against Nashoba Valley Tech on Tuesday, KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Salem Academy Charter Navigator on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Navigator this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Wednesday.

While KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Salem Academy Charter's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 26-24.

Xavier Pena paced KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate's offense, picking up 11 kills. Pena got some help from Christopher Pena and his nine assists. Aiman Nafi controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Salem Academy Charter, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Pioneer Charter School of Science on the 12th. As for Salem Academy Charter, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Pioneer Charter School of Science II on the 13th.
