Volleyball Recap: Providence Day Starts Season with Victory at Home

Providence Day took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Chargers, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Providence Day had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.

Kelsie Peters was nothing short of spectacular: she had 14 digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Peters wasn't the only good server: Providence Day was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. They served four more aces than Wake Christian Academy's also-impressive total of 14.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wake Christian Academy fell to 2-1.

Providence Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Millbrook on the 22nd. As for Wake Christian Academy, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Charlotte Country Day School on the 16th.
