After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Canfield, Girard was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Boardman Spartans. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (108-92) Girard actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 8-25, 18-25, 26-24, 15-13.

Boardman's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sadie Satterfield, who had 30 digs and five aces, and Gianna Commons, who had ten digs and five aces.
