Softball Game Preview: Temple Academy Bereans vs. Telstar Rebels

Temple Academy hasn't had much luck against Telstar recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bereans will venture away from home to challenge the Rebels at 4:00 p.m.

Temple Academy can't be too happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Tuesday. They lost 17-5 to Richmond.

Temple Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Sherwood, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Sherwood has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Sofia Isgro was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Telstar came out on top against Sacopee Valley on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Rebels blew past the Hawks 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.

The team relied heavily on Cadie Campbell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Phoebe McCann, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

Telstar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.

Temple Academy suffered a grim 29-14 defeat to Telstar in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Bereans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
