Softball Recap: Manti Gets the Win

Manti posted their closest win since May 4, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Canyon View Falcons 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Templars: when they faced off against the Falcons two weeks ago, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Danie Alder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Dakoda Cheney was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Avery Thompson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cheney wasn't the only one making solid contact: Manti kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Manti's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Canyon View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Manti is set to face off against their familiar foe Juab at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Canyon View will challenge rival Delta at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
