The Carver A&T Wildcats will head out to take on the Owings Mills Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Carver A&T has three straight wins, Owings Mills has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Carver A&T made easy work of Milford Mill Academy and carried off a 26-5 victory. That looming 26-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Mason Wehrheim made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Wehrheim was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Carver A&T is 4-1 when Wehrheim posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Trevor Schnirel was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Liam Battaglia was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
Carver A&T always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Owings Mills came up short against Patapsco on Tuesday, falling 17-1.
Owings Mills' loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Carver A&T, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Carver A&T took their victory against Owings Mills in their previous meeting on Saturday by a conclusive 22-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
