Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Penns Manor's Third in Last Four Outings

Penns Manor won the last time they faced River Valley, and Alex Polenik did his part to make sure it happened again. The Penns Manor Comets came out on top against the River Valley Panthers by a score of 71-58 on Thursday thanks in part to Polenik, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Amin Lieb, who posted four points along with eight assists and five boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season.

Penns Manor has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for River Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Penns Manor and Northern Cambria will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Penns Manor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. As for River Valley, they will take on Leechburg at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th.
