Baseball Recap: Waukesha South Has No Trouble Against West Allis Central

Waukesha South's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the West Allis Central Bulldogs with a sharp 25-2 victory. This was payback for the Blackshirts, who suffered a 9-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cooper Wiltz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wiltz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Waukesha South got a massive performance out of Michael Petfalski, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Petfalski a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Montez, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Waukesha South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Allis Central only posted an OBP of .318.

The win got Waukesha South back to even at 1-1. As for West Allis Central, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Waukesha South has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 victory against Waterloo on the 12th. As for West Allis Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against New Berlin Eisenhower on the 12th.
