Basketball Recap: McLaurin Comes Up Short

If McLaurin was feeling good fresh off their 60-31 takedown of Richland on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. McLaurin lost 71-47 to Jim Hill on Saturday.

Despite the loss, McLaurin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore TY Williams went 5-for-10 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Williams is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Davidson, who posted eight points.

McLaurin now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Jim Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

McLaurin has already played their next matchup, a 60-47 win against Puckett on the 11th. As for Jim Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-59 victory against Pearl on the 14th.
