Eureka's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Illinois Valley Central Grey Ghosts 4-3. The Hornets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Grey Ghosts, too.

Eureka's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Illinois Valley Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eureka will face off against Marquette at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 3.9, the Crusaders 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Illinois Valley Central, they will take on Pontiac at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
