Baseball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Loss

Hamilton was the 13-0 winner over Poland when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights fell just short of the Tornadoes by a score of 9-8 on Thursday.

Jack Penoyer was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Neuenschwander, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Hamilton's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Poland, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton will welcome Canastota at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Canastota has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something Hamilton will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Poland, they will challenge DeRuyter at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
