Game recap: Franklin High School Football Team bests Elk Grove

ELK GROVE, Calif. - Franklin (Elk Grove, Calif.) snapped Elk Grove (Calif.)'s 7-game winning streak, with a 17-7 victory on Saturday.

The Wildcats were up 10-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Trevon Lampley in the first quarter.

Franklin saw its 10-point halftime lead fall to three entering the fourth.

With the win FHS extended its winning streak to eight games. The Wildcats defeated the Blue Devils 72-7 last week.



Wadus Parker made a difference for the Thundering Herd. The junior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 16 on the year.

Kyran Harris stood out for Franklin in the win. The senior ran for one touchdown. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.

Elk Grove's lone touchdown came on a 7-yard run by Parker in the third quarter.

FHS had given up an average of 13.1 points prior to the contest. The seven points that EG ended with were well below its average of 39.6 coming into the game.

The Wildcats got revenge for last year's 23-7 loss to the Thundering Herd with the victory.

The loss comes after Elk Grove defeated Grant 24-0 last week.



Elk Grove (7-1) will play a Delta Valley game against Monterey Trail next week, while Franklin (8-0) will take on Laguna Creek also in a Delta Valley game.
