Basketball Game Preview: Hockinson Hawks vs. Woodland Beavers

Hockinson and Woodland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Hockinson Hawks are taking a road trip to take on the Woodland Beavers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Hockinson duked it out withHudson's Bay on Wednesday. Hockinson took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hudson's Bay. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 55-24 loss at the hands of Mark Morris. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Monarchs are ranked 62nd).

Woodland's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Hockinson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Hockinson was able to grind out a solid win over Woodland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 58-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hockinson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
