Basketball Recap: Eastern Now 11-2 over Last 13 Games

Eastern extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Jayme Poindexter. The Eastern Ramblers really took it to the Roosevelt Roughriders for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-18 victory thanks in part to Poindexter, who went 7 for 11 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lanaia Martin, who posted eight points along with nine boards and three blocks. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times she's played.

Eastern has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Roosevelt, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Eastern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-41 win against Banneker on the 17th. Roosevelt has also already played their next contest (against Dunbar), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
