Basketball Recap: St. Petersburg Catholic Barons vs. Canterbury Crusaders

St. Petersburg Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 52-42 to the Canterbury Crusaders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Barons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-40 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canterbury to victory, but perhaps none more so than Roman Wilder, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Canterbury is 7-3 when Wilder posts ten or more rebounds, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Oliver Forrester, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

St. Petersburg Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Canterbury, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

St. Petersburg Catholic will square off against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canterbury, they will face off against Lakeside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
