Basketball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Columbia Adventist Academy's Winning Streak

It was fun while it lasted, but Columbia Adventist Academy's undefeated season came to an end after nine games on Thursday. They fell to the Willapa Valley Vikings 56-52. The Kodiaks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 51-50.

Willapa Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blane King, who went 8 of 15 en route to 21 points and five boards. King continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Aust, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Columbia Adventist Academy fell to 9-1. As for Willapa Valley, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Columbia Adventist Academy and Willapa Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Columbia Adventist Academy will face off against Washington School for the Deaf at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 257 places (71 vs. 328). Similarly, Willapa Valley (ranked 131st) will meet Morton/White Pass (ranked 298th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
