Recap: KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers vs. Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles
The KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers won the last time they faced the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. KIPP Denver Collegiate came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocky Mountain Lutheran and snuck past 33-30. The win made it back-to-back wins for KIPP Denver Collegiate.
Despite the defeat, Rocky Mountain Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: Gavin Borchardt scored six points along with 17 rebounds and four blocks. Borchardt is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.
The win got KIPP Denver Collegiate back to even at 2-2. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
KIPP Denver Collegiate will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bruce Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Rocky Mountain Lutheran will be home for the holidays to greet Platte Canyon at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Platte Canyon comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
