Baseball Game Preview: Tolar Rattlers vs. Eastland Mavericks

The Tolar Rattlers will head out on the road to face off against the Eastland Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tolar's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.

Tolar made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Eastland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Tolar was the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Eastland on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Rattlers have won by exactly ten runs.

Talan Culberson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Tolar's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cutter Cain, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Tolar's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Eastland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-2 record this season.
