Softball Game Preview: Grosse Ile Red Devils vs. Milan Big Reds

Grosse Ile is 0-10 against Milan since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Red Devils will host the Big Reds at 4:30 p.m. Grosse Ile has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Grosse Ile came up short against Grosse Pointe South and fell 12-9.

Grosse Ile saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Antosiewicz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Marian McCarthy was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milan). They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over Plymouth Christian Academy on Saturday. The Big Reds not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since June 8, 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Milan and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Grosse Ile, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
