Volleyball Game Preview: Cokeville Panthers vs. Lyman Eagles

Cokeville hasn't had much luck against Lyman recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will head out to take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Cokeville is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Cokeville barely beat Encampment the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Cokeville took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-11, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Lyman faced Pinedale in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Wranglers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since October 22, 2024.

While Lyman was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18, 25-23.

Lyman's loss dropped their record down to 14-10-1. As for Cokeville, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Cokeville couldn't quite get it done against Lyman in their previous meeting back in August as they fell 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
