Softball Recap: Tiverton Tigers vs. Rogers Vikings
Tiverton put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Rogers Vikings as the Tiverton Tigers made off with a 10-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tiverton.
Abby DeMello spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 11 consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Sara Poland and Carlie Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Poland scored three runs while going 3-for-5, while Martin scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Brooke Sowa was another key contributor, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
