Basketball Game Preview: Lander Valley Tigers vs. Pinedale Wranglers

The Lander Valley Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Pinedale Wranglers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lander Valley has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Pinedale will arrive with 14 straight victories.

Lander Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Powell, who was ranked tenth at the time (Lander Valley was ranked 14th). Lander Valley took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Powell.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pinedale beat Powell 52-46 on Saturday.

Lander Valley better keep an eye on Elyn Bowers. She was instrumental in Pinedale's win, going 9-for-16 to rack up 26 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Bowers has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 34 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyxis White, who posted six points and five boards.

Lander Valley now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Pinedale, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Lander Valley came up short against Pinedale in their previous matchup last Saturday, falling 67-54. Can Lander Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
