Phelps fought the good fight in their overtime match against Prestonsburg on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 87-82 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prestonsburg Blackcats. One positive for the Hornets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Phelps' loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Prestonsburg, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phelps will challenge Mingo Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Prestonsburg, they will welcome Pikeville at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pikeville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Prestonsburg likes a good challenge.
