Softball Recap: Polo Marcos vs. Milledgeville Missiles
Polo's last matchup with Milledgeville could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Marcos came up short against the Missiles, falling 20-2. The Marcos have struggled against the Missiles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Camrynn (Cam) Jones was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jones was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
Jones wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leah Tobin, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Polo's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Milledgeville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.
