Preview: St. Bonaventure Seraphs vs. Dunn Earwigs
St. Bonaventure is 4-0 against Dunn since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The St. Bonaventure Seraphs will head out on the road to take on the Dunn Earwigs at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
In what's become a running theme this season, St. Bonaventure gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past Santa Clara, posting a 77-29 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win St. Bonaventure has posted yet this season.
St. Bonaventure's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dylan Benner led the charge by scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Donald Clark iv, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Dunn strolled past Bishop Diego with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 82-65. Given Dunn's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Bishop Diego is ranked 956th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Bonaventure's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Dunn, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
St. Bonaventure beat Dunn 62-51 in their previous matchup on January 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Bonaventure since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
